Disposable Email Detector

Check whether an email address uses a disposable or throwaway domain. Paste one email or a whole list.

What counts as disposable?

A disposable email (also called temporary, throwaway, or burner mail) is provided by services that let anyone create an inbox without registration — usually for a few minutes to a few hours. People use them to sign up for services without giving a real address.

Common providers include Mailinator, 10MinuteMail, Guerrilla Mail, YopMail, and hundreds of clones. This detector checks the domain part of each email against a curated list of 200+ known disposable providers.

Why filter them?

  • List quality — disposable addresses become invalid quickly, driving up bounce rates
  • Anti-abuse — filter fake signups for free trials, referral programs, coupons
  • Deliverability — mailbox providers penalize senders with many invalid addresses
  • CRM hygiene — keep your lead database clean

Limitations

  • New disposable domains appear constantly — some may not be in our list yet
  • This tool only checks the domain, not whether the mailbox exists
  • Role addresses (info@, contact@) aren't flagged — use list-cleaner workflows
  • Privacy-focused real providers (ProtonMail, Tutanota, Fastmail) are not disposable

Everything runs locally in your browser. The disposable-domain list is embedded in this page — no addresses leave your device.

Frequently asked questions

How does the detector recognise disposable addresses?

The tool checks each address's domain against a curated list of 200+ known disposable-mail providers (Mailinator, Guerrilla Mail, Temp-Mail, 10minutemail, etc.). It's a deny-list lookup — fast and deterministic, but can miss brand-new services.

Can I legally refuse disposable email addresses?

For freemium signups or trials: yes — accepting disposable addresses is your choice. For EU contracts or invoicing, you can require a verified business address. The GDPR doesn't force you to accept specific address types.

My list contains many disposables — what should I do?

Remove them before your first send. Disposable addresses have near-100% bounce rates after a day or two, which tanks your sender reputation. Use the bulk-check mode above to scrub the list in one pass.
